Greater Hazleton is one of the most interesting and fun areas in which you could choose to set up a business or raise a family. Whether you choose to live in-town or in one of the many small villages and surrounding boroughs, you’re sure to find your dream home. The scenic drive down the valley into Sugarloaf and Conyngham is just minutes from town for shopping, schools and employment. Penn State’s Hazleton Campus and Luzerne County Community College offer higher education close to home.
Hazleton has a long history including battles in the American Revolution with the Seneca Tribe to Coal Mining from the 1850’s through the 1940’s. The coal mined in Hazleton helped to establish the United States as a world power by providing fuel for the massive furnaces at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
Today, Hazleton has become home to many industrial parks, Office Max, Simmons Bedding Company, Michaels, Network Solutions, AutoZone, General Mills, WEIR Minerals, EB Brands and Amazon.com. With close proximity to the Crossroads of I-80 and I-81 and industrial rail service it will continue to be a hub of industry and jobs.
